The First Battle Tank
- Designs for machines resembling Battle Tanks were proposed
- The British were the to put these first designs to go use. The Tank was be used on battlefield during WW1.
- It was called a Tank because the British wished to confuse the enemy into believing the tank would carry water, hence "Water Tank".
- The British Battle Tank designated as Mark l was first used during the Battle of the Somme during late 1916.

- The British had 2 different Tanks one being male and another being female. The differences between these two was that one had is that the "male" is armed with two 6 pounder guns and three 8 mm Hotchkiss machine guns and the "female" had four Vickers machine guns and one Hotchkiss.
- These Tanks were not fast and they did have a lot of amour to protect the crew.
- The French and Germans also developed Battle Tanks.
